The Difference Between "Want and Need"....

I want someone who I can share my innermost thoughts, my deepest feelings.
I want someone who can love me and hate me all at the same time.
I want someone who can control me whenever I do crazy stuff but can still let me be to learn my mistakes.
I want someone whom I can share my passion in writing, poetry and art.
I want someone who can stand by my side through all the ups and downs.
I want someone who appreceiates me for what I am.
I want someone who can love me unconditionally.
I want a perfect person --- and not just any perfect person...
I want the one who's perfect for me....

I need someone who understands me
I need someone who I can live without but enjoy life while being in it.
I need someone who can put up with my insecurities, mistakes and irrational decisions...
I just need a simple person that will make my life feel special...

Embarking on a New Journey

Happy New Year Guys!

All this Holiday partying is giving me hell... I missed writing. I missed staying at home and staring at the computer. I missed reading -- I missed poetry but I enjoyed a whole lot of party music and beer, beer, beer!

I'm not really into the "New Year's Resolution" thingy and all those crappy bullshit that capitalists had made up. I am just a happy and simple individual who strives for the best everyday and not just for a single holiday.

All these random thoughts and ideas are flooding my sanity. As you can see, being deprived from my passion makes me crazy. I am literally overflowing with creative juices!! The sad part is, I'm having a hard time sticking with a single concept. A while ago, I was thinking of writing a rather cheesy poem about my perfect guy. Ahaha! I'll get back when I have my mind straightened out.

Again, Happy New Year! This is a new beginning...

I'm in love with a Montague

Holding back feelings for someone won't make it any better...
So, obsessing and letting your love suffice is a good option.
Love, until there's no more left to love...
-Lara Nadezda P. Melencio
I kept thinking about these words while I was in my "Happy Place"... It's the truth, right? I once kept my feelings for someone hoping I can move on but nearly 3 years had passed, and everytime I hear his voice, see his face and kiss his lips, I still get butterflies on my stomach. He is like a drug -- bad for my system but feels so right.. I am now trying with all my might to just admire and love him from afar. I still can't understand why 2 perfect people can never be together. Sucks to be US.. I know, right??

I'm in love with a Montague!!
Love, Juliet Capulet

Don't get me wrong, I love the chase -- but sometimes, I would rather wish it's over rather than running in circles wondering when will one of us will catch the other...

Star-Crossed Lovers like Romeo and Juliet

Party Madness

I was so exhausted from 2 weeks of straight partying. I don't want another sip of vodka or beer or any form of alcohol and nicotine for like a decade. As in seriously!! Forgive my raging social hormones... I wasn't able to update this site for more than 2 weeks (I know and I'm really sorry). It was just a bad couple of weeks... I'm reinventing my finances (Ha! As if there's something to reinvent) and of course I'm reinventing myself (fashion wise) although "reinventing" is not a very applicable term with what I'm doing...

I am getting back with the old "rock and roll scene"... Not the music though, I still love INDIE POP, it's just because of the crowd. I have come to a conclusion that all Metal Heads (especially guys) think highly of themselves. I am an art person and I thought music geniuses from local underground metal bands would share my passion. So, based on my own experience, Metal Heads hate poetry reading and indie films... and of course (forgive my dissing but I have to blurt out the truth), they suck... BIG TIME!!!!

Speaking of art and geniuses, here's a poster of the latest "IT" event this Friday. Yes, I'm going!
A former classmate sent invites on Facebook...

The Best Bob Marley Quote Ever

You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t eitherand the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there.”
- Bob Marley -

I have no idea if this quote from Bob Marley is authentic or not. There isn't any confirmation about it in the Internet but whoever made this quote is a genius!

Electro Indie is the the Sh^t!!

I am really into Her Space Holiday! Marc Bianchi (monikers include xoxo, panda and the new kid revival) is a genius!

"I am the ultimate, mega, super duper, hands down, all superlatives, no holds barred Her Space Holiday fan".
(Quote modified. Taken from a short indie film entitled "A Date with Jao Mapa")

The lyrics in Marc Bianchi's songs are not as ordinary as you think. For instance, the song A Match Made in Texas is about having no definite lines in sexuality. I can relate to the guy in the Japanese Gum song and the female he was referring to in Something to Do with My Hands. Often, Bianchi's lyrics are about infidelity, sinful desires and being the abuser and the victim all at the same time. I really can't understand why I like him so much even if his lyrics are a bit so truthful and disturbing. Maybe it's about the catchy tunes, the relaxing sound of his voice or because he captures a lot of emotons and memories in each song. He is truly an exceptional artist.

Below are some of my favorite Her Space Holiday songs:
  1. Japanese Gum
  2. A Match Made in Texas
  3. Something to Do with My Hands
  4. The New Kid Revival Opener

Japanese Gum Lyrics

I used to know this girl
Who gave her love away
To every guy she met
And with all the games they played
She never seemed to cry
She never got upset
And one by one they came
And one by one they left
I thought that I could fix her
If she would let me in
But all of my advances
Were shut down in the end
When days turned into months
I begged her to explain
And this is what she sang

It's not like I'm a slut
Or that I really like to fuck
I just want every boy I see
To walk away with part of me
Until there's nothing left to hold
Until there's nothing left to hate
I appreciate your help
But even you can't save me from myself

I used to know this boy
Who took notes in a book
But he ripped out all the pages
Before I got a look
At all the words he scribbled
At all the lines he filled
But the ink stains on his fingers
Told me he was skilled
At capturing a feeling
That most of us just miss
The simple pain of living
With goodbyes on our lips
I found one of the pages
Crumpled by her bed
And this is how it read

It's not like I am weak
Or that I don't know how to leave
It's just that every time you cheat
You bring me closer to defeat

Until there's nothing left to love
Until there's nothing left to say
I know that you need help
But even I can't save you from yourself

A Match Made in Texas Lyrics

He's towing the line
He's gendered defined
It's the magic of america
We're always so american

The truth of it is
That he just wants to kiss
That boy that she's talking to
The one that seems to own the room

The way that he dances
The touch of his hands
And the unapologetic way his tiny clothes stick to his frame

With blood alcohol and the drugs in the stall
He feels like he's getting weak
He grabs his coat and starts to leave
With one look back he accepts the fact

It's the magic of america
We're always so american

She's towing the line
She's gendered defined
It's the magic of america
We're always so american

If she had her way
She would know what to say
To that girl that comes into her store
By herself but not alone

It's her confident charm
And the curve of her arms
That tightly bends her circuitry
Into a twisted mess of interesting

The girl's outside
And she offers a ride
But she says i think i'll take my bike
It is such a lovely night

With one look back
She accepts the fact
It's the magic of america
We're always so american

By some off chance
They both crossed paths
And found a certain ratio
That pleased them both and made them whole

He likes wearing her clothes
She likes watching him dress
And through all this back and forth
Grew a certain innocence

He's not a boy
And she's not a girl
Just two individuals
Who made their place inside this world

They're destroying the line
T's gender refined
It's the battle for america
Both of them american

Something to Do with My Hands

You know it kills me to see such a pretty girl so tired
You've got your mother's cheekbones and your father's crooked smile
Forget all those places that you've never really been
And all those situations you somehow found yourself in
Let your body sink into me
Like your favorite memory
Like a line of poetry
Or a fucking fit of honesty
I'll do my best to keep you, keep you sleepy as the south
With my old watch on your wrist
And my thumbs inside your mouth
Suck on my fingertips until you kill all my prints
So your boyfriend has no clue
Of how much I've been touching you

My problem with me is my problem with you
It doesn't take much
For me to come unglued
I put my headphones on
And hear your favorite songs
And it kills me to know
That this won't be one of them

You know it saves me to think even for a little while
I owned the set of shoulders that you came to rely on
Like in that movie theater when you whispered in my ear
I almost didn't make it
This has been my hardest year
Your job is killing you faster than a cancer could
So now you're giving up like they always said you would
You've got that old map out now and you found the farthest town
You hope that if you're lucky this is where you'll settle down

I don't care where you move I don't care if it's far
All that I ask is that I know where you are
In case our timing is right
In case you need more from me
Than a bit of advice
Or a tongue full of sympathy

A Black Ribbon for the Victims of Political Killings

Justice for the 57 people who died in perhaps the worst political massacre in the Philippines.

This horrific tragedy is also called "The Ampatuan Massacre" which was named after the city in Maguindanao where it happened. The killings occurred on the morning of Nov. 23, 2009.

This is one of the reasons I hate politics. It is deadly (literally) and I can't understand it. Even though I don't like to be involved in any political organization, issue or whatsoever, I am not oblivious to the happenings in my country. This has to stop now! I and perhaps almost all Filipinos want change.

Ilan pa ba ang kailangang mamatay para lang matuto tayong maghangad ng pagbabago?

A Closer Look at TWEE (INDIE+POP)

According to the Urban Dictionary, TWEE is:

1. Something that is sweet, almost to the point of being sickeningly so. As a derogatory descriptive, it means something that is affectedly dainty or quaint, or is way too sentimental.
2. In American English it often refers to a type of simple sweet pop music, but in British English it is used much more widely for things that are nauseatingly cute or precious. It comes from the way the word sweet sounds when said in baby talk.
Example: Belle and Sebastian are the Beatles of twee.

Examples of Twee Bands and Music:

... and of course, The Smiths

Simple to Fun and Bubbly

Just pimpin' an ordinary outfit... I'm holding a film camera btw... :))

I pinned my "tooth" stuffed toy onto my shirt and wore black socks/stockings + my favorite pumps. I also added a red scarf and made it into a headband to accentuate as well as green chandelier earrings.

Fashion doesn't need to be expensive... It's a matter of style! :)
Twee-inspired get-up!

(click on the photos for a better view)

Bought it on an Ukay store! Just <3 it!!!!

Here's to better see the red scarf and the "tooth" stuffed toy.. I still deciding whether or not to flaunt this outfit at my officemates' gig this Tuesday.

Will add new accessories and post it here (a Lego watch perhaps?!?) :)))

Yes, I'm having fun!! Oh, don't forget to paint your nails purple to add more colors!

My Weakness

I'm a sucker for people who love Van Gogh.
Don't you just love people who appreciate art?
Art doesn't need to be beautiful but it certainly needs to have emotions/feelings...

On the left is Vincent Willem van Gogh's painting entitled "Starry Starry Night". It it is the same one that  inspired Don McLean to write a song about this exceptional artist.

Sure, this painting has lots of colors but can you see the sadness it emanates? This is one of my favorite Van Gogh paintings.

This is entitled "Sunflowers". This is my favorite Van Gogh artwork for it represents reality --- life. Notice the state of the sunflowers? Some of them are fresh, happy-looking and sunny while the others are either about to wither or are already dead.
I don't need to elaborate. You get the point, right?

As the song "Vincent" says,
Have I told you, Vincent
this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.
If you love Van Gogh ----
then ---

It Was Only a Kiss... It was Only a Kiss...

"A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it the superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason."

Grayscale Business Management and Consultancy Services

I have been a writer, editor and team leader for this company for more than 2 years and it has been the best experience in my life. Sure, I've written by fair share of articles, essays, write ups, poems, sonnets and other stuff in the past but I've never considered writing as a career option before. This job had molded me into loving the art of writing. It had also brought me closer to advertising and business. I've also learned to embrace the wonderful world of online business and web-content writing.

Probably the best thing about my work is its flexibility. Since I'm home-based, I don't have to worry about getting up early in the morning to go to the office. No more fare expenses and food allowance. I can also do my articles at any time of the day provided that I comply with the deadline.

Poem, Prose or Cinquain?

scenes from the past slowly envelopes the mind
trying to forget what had been instead a contract is bind
all i did was love you... is that a crime?
you said you'll be with me forever but i guess you're out of time

if loving is such a wondrous feeling then why am i in pain?
i bore my sufferings, i choked upon your worthless games
you left me to rot alone in this cruel place
when all i did was to let love prevail...

verbose cinquains run into my tiny brain
feelings of pleasure, delight and pain
random thoughts i wished to relieve
as soon as i would try to believe....

Small Things That Matter

Since I came home early from a party and since I wasn't too drunk to do anything other than sleep, I decided to take some pictures of my outfit focusing on the small details which make up fashion as it is.

This is taken in our dining room area. I flaunted this outfit at a friend's birthday dinner and vodka party. :))

(Just click on the pictures to have a better view)

Gold Headband - Girl Shoppe (You can also go for the dark brown headband)
Checkered Vest - My mom bought this at a certain Ukay shop in Anonas, QC
Black Razorback Top - I bought this a long time ago so I can't remember where I bought it.
Checkered Shorts - SM
Black Pumps - Aerosoles
Black Bag - Bella Donna

I call this the "Spoon and Fork Collection" by Sweet Accessories. I have been blessed to know Sweet and she customizes and creates a lot of accessories. If you are interested, I can show you some of her available collections.

The "Glam Gothic Collection"

This set goes with basically any party dress. I just love it!

This pair of shoes have small holes on the sides and the heels are made of wood but very light and comfortable to wear. I really recommend having a pair of black pumps for it can fit a lot of outfits.

Who Says Fashion's Only for the Rich and Famous??!?

I don't really have a particular fashion style. I just go with what I want to wear at the moment. Sometimes, I opt for the weirdest pieces but more often than not, I go for the simpler look. I love to play with colors when dressing up but don't be fooled! I can pull up a really hot Gothic attire if I wanted to. I have learned that shoes is the main factor in making an outfit click. Sure, it also has to go with accessories but the right shoes will always give you a confidence boost.

This is me getting ready for Cubao Expo's Halloween Party @ Future (which was postponed btw due to super typhoon Santi) I got to finally flaunt this attire a week after @ Cubao X and Taft...

Thai Top c/o my Brother&Sis-in-Law (from Bangkok)
Shorts c/o my beloved friend, Tina (This was a Xmas gift)
Pumps c/o myself (ukay, ukay along P.Tuazon) and Earrings c/o Sweet Accessories

This is a simple version of me. I just love my yellow top. I bought it at a random Ukay shop in Anonas. Project 3 has the best Ukay shops in metro manila. Of course, Baguio is still the best.
I know the picture's a bit blurry but the main items here are the accessories.. I flaunted this outfit at a bar along Taft in Manila.

Purple Headband - Trinoma
Black Capiz Earrings - Cubao Flea Market
Purple beaded necklace - bought it at a shell, wood and bead shop in Cubao
Silver Hippie-ish Ring - c/o Sweet Accessories
Yellow top - Ukay ukay
Shorts - Sta. Lucia
Purple Dupe Slippers - (not on picture) SM Cubao
Thai Bag - (not on picture) Bangkok Floating Market

This is a trying-hard-to-be-bubbly look. I found my yellow flats (which I had bought over a year ago) hidden in my huge cabinet with boxes and boxes of shoes. I wanted a fresh and teen-looking outfit.

Headband - none
Earrings - none
Bag - none
Yellow Top c/o SM Cubao Teens Department
Purple Top @ my favorite Ukay store in Anonas
Green Checkered Shorts - Sta. Lucia
Yellow Flats - Isetan Cubao ( I got it on sale!1!)

I got to flaunt this teeny-bopper style at my mom's office in Caloocan.

This was taken after making my hair and make-up. The last picture before I put on my bridesmaid gown. I just wore this outfit going to the hotel. This was my brother's wedding day.

Earrings - SM Cubao accessories
Black Dress  - Pasig Flea Market
Gray Belt - SM Cubao
White-Strapped Sandals - (not on picture) a store in SM North Edsa
Flesh-colored Bag with Gray Straps - (not on pictures) SM Cubao

I call this my "Sun Dress". No, it's not a shortcut for Sunday Dress. It's a literal Sun dress cause this was time when I loved the sun so much.

Retro Sunglasses - I just found my mom's old sunglasses. Now it's mine! haha!
Checkered Tube Dress - a gift from my lola (grandmother), Toronto
Beaded Anklet - Bought this at Laiya, Batangas. Me and my then-boyfriend have matching anklets.

"To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love; but then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer, to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love; to be happy then is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy; therefore to be unhappy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down."

Funny Representation of The Cure's Friday I'm in Love

Friday I'm in Love Lyrics

I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Oh, Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love
Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...
I don't care if Mondays black
Tuesday, Wednesday - heart attack
Thursday, never looking back
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday, you can hold your head
Tuesday, Wednesday stay in bed
Or Thursday - watch the walls instead
It's Friday, I'm in love
Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...

The Plastiscines - Bitch Lyrics

I love the new song of the Plastiscines entitled Bitch but I can't seem to find any lyrics of them whatsoever... I encoded the lyrics so I'll be the first one to post it online... :))) Here it goes:

Bitch - Plastiscines

I'm a bitch
When I brush my teeth
I'm a bi-itch
Walking down the street
I'm a bitch
When I paint my lips
I'm a bi-itch
But people look at me

I'm a bitch
In disguise
Son of a bitch
Never rhyme
Son of a bitch
Just realize
Son of a bitch
All the time

(I'm a bitch
I.T.C.H 4x)
oh whoo oh

I'm a bitch
When I walk my dog
I'm a bi-itch
When I fall in love
I'm a bitch
When i give the kiss
I'm a bi-itch
When I sing like this

I'm a bitch
In disguise
Son of a bitch
You're never mine
Son of a bitch
Just realize
Son of a bitch

(I'm a bitch
I.T.C.H 8x)

in disguise
in disguise
in disguise
in disguise

I'm a bitch 8x)

Pissed off...

I am extremely pissed off because I'm having problems with my cell service and our phone was cut. No cell service = no texts = cancelled plans = cancelled dates = no person to talk to other than myself. Okay, I was invited by someone really close to me (I mean, I was invited by my confirmation godfather) to have lunch and coffee. I was excited because I haven't seen him for like 5 years now it's his treat...

He's just 3 years older than me and very religious (and by religious I mean religiously famous and pious). He's really busy and I don't think we can reschedule our chitchat next week. In addition, my early morning jogs at Marikina Sports Complex were also compromised due to this Typhoon/Tropical Cyclone thingy called "Ondoy"(Ketsana is its Intenational Code Name). This typhoon is the worst of its kind. I'm deeply worried for one of my best friends got stranded in Marikina particularly in Provident Village (the worst place to get stranded in due to exaggerated floods that drives people to go to their rooftops just to be safe). Well, let's not talk about disasters. Let's talk about my night last Friday.. :)

I watched Peacepipe's gig at Guerrilla Radio in Shaw Blvd. The vocalist, Jeck Pilpil got me captivated and it's safe to say that I was captivated by his voice, his Bob Marley-ish moves and stoned accent.. I developed a weird habit of checking out any hot guy for a ring. If he has a ring, well he's off limits meaning he's happily married. If not, I'm free to drool over him. LOL. Well, I think a lot of girls do that and I learned that from a friend. Ok, so I checked if the hot Peacepipe vocalist has a ring and guess what girls, he doesn't have one!! Ha! Thanks to the wonderful world of the Internet and the helpful search engine called Google, I researched and I found out he has a domestic partner (or a wife and this hot vocalist doesn't wear his ring when performing) and also has a cute son. This sad fact doesn't mean that any girl should stop admiring the band's music. For those of you who don't know, Peacepipe is a great reggae band. I've seen them perform countless of times and they're really good. They've recently renamed their band to "Jeck Pilpil and Peacepipe" just like Bob Marley and the Wailers. One of my best friends is a huge fan of the reggae scene and he was the one who influenced me with this kind of music. According to my best friend, Jeck Pilpil is a respected reggae artist and activist. Last Friday's gig was memorable. It was the last gig of their keyboardist. I hope they find a talented replacement.

Next, I went to Cubao X (formerly Marikina Shoe expo) to catch up with my fellow Grayscale writers. we drank at Mogwai even if it was raining cats and dogs. Then we switched to future where I met the hottest and the funkiest DJ in town, Eggboy. Trivia: Eggboy = Daddymaps = Diego Mapa (Pedicab, Cambio, Monsterbot). Our chat was basically about why I love and adore
his brother, Jao Mapa, and how I love indie films and theater. I know, it was weird. Ha! Me talking to him about someone else and ignoring his works altogether. I'm not a typical fan, mind you! As much as I adore Diego Mapa, I am totally in love with Jao!

I haven't watched all of Jao's films but I really adore his versatility and acting skills as well as his career choices. I'm still deciding whether I'll be a stalker or not. Talk about psycho! A Date with Jao Mapa epic fail! (Pun Clearly Intended). BTW, the Mapa Brothers both have rings... haha! Married!!!

The problem with love is ---
Even if the other person doesn't mean to
Even if the persons involved strive not to do it
Even if they are in love
LOVE is overrated
LOVE does not conquer all
Who gets to choose who deserves to be loved?
Who gets to choose who deserves to be left alone?

Jim Morrison, The Doors, Rock n' Roll 60's

I am a great fan of The Doors. I love Jim Morrison! This is yet another episode of my "wishing I was a teenager in the 60s" series.

Just looking at Jim's photos while typing my thoughts about him makes me hyperventilate! He's so hot! As in hot! Oh, the word for today is -- what else? "HOT"

This was supposed to be a formal who-is-Jim-Morrison-type of writing but as you can see, I was clearly distracted by his awesomeness. Ok, let's start.

James Douglas Morrison or simply Jim Morrison was born on Dec. 8, 1943 and died on Jul. 3, 1971. He was 27 years old. I knew there was some connection between us the moment I first heard his songs. You see, I was born on July 3. Is it merely a coincidence or a lifelong worth of connection through his music? Despite his self-destructive persona, Morrison was a genius, poet, filmaker and musician. It had been said that his IQ was 149.

Like all rockstars, Morrison was also into the so-called "Sex, Drugs and Rock n' Roll" scene. People saw him wither away and burn out during the late 60s and he resulted into heavy drinking and taking drugs. Morrison died due to heroin overdose though the details are still a mystery until now for there had been different versions of the story.

This is a photo of Morrison with his long-time partner Pamela Courson. Courson was with Morrison the day that he died. It had been said that Morrison did not die in his hotel room in France. Rather, he had an overdose inside a club somewhere in Paris and was only brought back to his hotel room to protect the name and reputation of the club. Courson died 3 years later also due to heroin overdose. At the time of Courson's death, she was also 27 years old just like Morrison.

This couple reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. They are the true Romeo and Juliet of society. A love story that was not perfect, but real.

Jim Morrison's talent was exceptional. Too bad he wasn't able to be with us long enough.

(Ok, so I am very very sleepy. If this post about Morrison doesn't make sense, don't blame me,.. I'm stoned! LOL)
